OUR CHARTERS

NOOSA'S TOP OFFSHORE SPORT FISHING CHARTER

Home to the top sport fishing operation on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa Sportfishing Charters welcomes you aboard to hunt trophies and break PBs! Our local fishing grounds allow us to offer you vast diversity amongst not only species, but fishing techniques, styles and locations too.

All charters operate from our custom-built 3000 Express Kevlacat, ‘Good Company’. You will experience the ultimate fishing adventure on Noosa’s fastest and most luxurious fishing charter vessel.

In summer, we specialise in sport and game fishing charters in Noosa from October until April. Our reef fishing and sport fishing charters operate during Queensland’s winter from May to October.

FISH NOOSA SEASONAL TARGETS

During summer, we mainly focus on targeting Mahi Mahi and operate light tackle billfish charters. Mackerel and tuna fishing seasons in Noosa also overlap around March. Reef fishing in Noosa during the summer can be quite difficult due to strong currents and large numbers of sharks.

Winter brings with it a huge variety of reef and sport fish with Amberjack and Kingfish hitting the top of bucket lists. Specialised jigging trips are available on our 7.5 hour and 10 hour private charters. Shared fishing charters will mainly consist of reef fishing for the plentiful stocks that are present this time of year.

We like to fish further afield than most other operations targeting lesser pressured areas where trophies are a regular occurrence. When the weather allows, we aim to fish around the top of the Continental Shelf, north of Double Island Point or south to Cape Moreton.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE NOOSA FISHING CHARTER

It’s simple, we don’t just use dead bait on our charters. We do things differently.

Techniques used through the summer are bait and switch, light and heavy tackle Marlin fishing, as well as live baiting for Marlin and Mahi Mahi. Targeting Tuna and Mackerel is usually done casting stick baits into schools of feeding fish. It really is a visual spectacle! To target the larger Mackerel, we will troll large dead baits like Tailor, Queenfish or smaller Mackerel at dawn.

During winter, we utilise live baits for our reef fishing charters in Noosa. We find this helps bring out a better class of fish here on the Sunshine Coast such as Red Emperor, Snapper and other exotics found on the wide reefs. As we head out wider, jigging can be incorporated as another technique on our fishing charters to target hard-fighting species such as Amberjack and Kingfish.
